Terms of Service
Last updated: May 23, 2026
These Terms govern your use of qrcodegenerator.ca (the āserviceā), operated by Nargis Tanai (āweā, āusā), an individual based in Ontario, Canada. By creating an account, generating a QR code, or otherwise using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. The service
qrcodegenerator.ca provides QR code generation and management, including:
- Static QR codes, generated entirely in your browser. Once a static code is created, it does not depend on us ā it will keep resolving to its destination regardless of whether your account exists or our service is online.
- Dynamic QR codes, whose destination can be edited after creation and whose scans can be tracked. Dynamic codes rely on our redirect service to function: if your account lapses or the service is unavailable, dynamic codes may stop resolving. Plan your printed materials accordingly.
2. Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that happens under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information when registering.
- Keep your password secure and not share it with others.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- Be the age of majority in your province or territory, or have your parent or guardianās consent to use the service.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to create, host, or link QR codes to content that is:
- Illegal under Canadian or applicable foreign law.
- Malware, phishing pages, scams, or other content designed to harm or defraud the people who scan your codes.
- Spam, deceptive marketing, or unsolicited bulk messaging.
- Infringing on intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Harassing, abusive, hateful, sexually exploitative, or otherwise harmful.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without prior notice, and may cooperate with law enforcement where required.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the content you encode into your QR codes and of any other content you submit to the service. To operate the service, you grant us the limited, worldwide, non-exclusive right to host, store, and serve that content ā for example, to redirect scans of your dynamic QR codes to the destination you chose. You are responsible for what your codes link to and for ensuring you have the right to share that content.
5. Subscriptions and payments
- Billing. Paid plans are billed by our payment processor, Stripe, on a recurring basis (monthly or annually) until you cancel. Applicable Canadian taxes (GST/HST/PST/QST) are calculated and added at checkout based on your province.
- Changes to prices or features. We may change prices or plan features from time to time. Material changes affecting your current subscription will be communicated to you in advance through the service or by email.
- Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation stops future billing; your access continues until the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds. Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law. We do not guarantee pro-rated refunds for unused time in a billing period. If you believe a charge is incorrect, contact us at [email protected] and we will review it in good faith.
- Free trial. Paid plans may include a free trial period. If we offer one, the trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before then. We will not charge you during the trial.
6. Service availability
The service is provided āas isā and āas availableā. We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any scan-analytics figures will be perfectly accurate. We may need to take parts of the service offline for maintenance, security, or operational reasons.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service. Our total cumulative liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
We are not responsible for the content of destinations your QR codes link to or for any harm arising from those destinations, nor for the accuracy or completeness of scan data we report to you.
8. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time and may delete your account from your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if continued operation of your account creates a material risk to the service or to other users. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (for example, intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law) will continue to apply.
9. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and your use of the service are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the āLast updatedā date at the top of the page. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
